Standing tall at 1,126 m (3,694 ft), Ben Cruachan—aka the “Hollow Mountain”—is the biggest peak in the area. It’s a full-on day out, usually taking 6–8 hours to climb and return. The reward? Dramatic ridges, deep corries, and breathtaking views over Loch Awe and the surrounding highlands. Definitely a Munro for those ready for a challenge.
A bit gentler at 880 m (2,887 ft), Beinn a’ Chochuill is a great starter Munro or a shorter day out, usually 3–4 hours return. Its broad slopes make for an enjoyable walk, with sweeping views of Loch Awe and, on a clear day, a peek at Ben Cruachan nearby.
Rising to 903 m (2,962 ft), Beinn Euaich is quieter than some of the other Munros, which makes it perfect if you’re after a bit of solitude. The walk takes around 4–5 hours round trip and offers lovely open views over glens and hills—just the sort of peaceful highland scenery that sticks with you.
At 802 m (2,631 ft), Beinn Starv is the smallest of the bunch, but don’t underestimate it. A 3–4 hour walk will get you to the top, where wide-ranging views over nearby lochs and hills make it a really satisfying climb. It’s a lovely way to finish off a day of Munro walking.
