Argyll-based Rhythm and Blues band Dr Hip and the Blues operation, now in their 21st year, are grateful to Inveraray’s George Hotel for encouraging an annual celebration of one of the area’s most popular bands.

Band founder Gordon Neish has been living with cancer for nearly three years.
After three chemo courses and two major surgeries he is now celebrating being declared cancer-free by inviting donations at this year’s garden party for the Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre, whose invaluable work has seen Gordon, and countless others, through the toughest of times.

Dr Hip celebrate the summer with three very special talented guests in what is sure to be a musically diverse and thoroughly entertaining afternoon of music, great food, great company – and mellow vibes.

Clair Tierney combines sensitive vocals with delicate guitar work, firmly rooted in contemporary folk music. The Westmorland Gazette said: “With a voice akin to a chorus of angels, Clair Tierney's majestic debut Of The Deepest Dye will melt even the coldest of hearts.”

Whether it’s a tale of heartbreak, revenge or just a sweet love story, Abigail Pryde’s emotive songwriting has all the country feeling you could ask for. 

If you’re a fan of Dolly Parton, Kacey Musgreves and Tenille Townes- Abigail’s music is certainly for you. 

Having written and recorded with other artists such as folk band Heron Valley for much of her career, she is now stepping out on her own with her debut album under Wee Studio Records. 

Abigail grew up in rural Argyll with music at the heart of her family and local traditions. Fiddle was her first instrument, however she learned guitar and vocal stylings at home with her father, Alan, before moving to Glasgow to pursue music at university and eventually full time.

Music is in her blood and in her heart, and there is no denying that you can hear that in her writing, singing and playing.
