Dr Hip and the Blues Operation combine the traditions of rhythm and blues with sweet soul music, excellent musicianship providing a solid background for two stunning blues singers

The State Blues Band play hard electric Blues. Formed in 1996 to host a new Blues Jam night in the State Bar in Holland St. in Glasgow, the band have now been hosting this weekly event ever since. That’s over 26 years folks!!! There can’t be many other Blues nights in this country that have been running for so long with the same line-up. To celebrate this anniversary, the band are currently mixing a 12 track album of original Blues material which will be released very soon.

All of the members of the band are highly experienced and have played with, and, indeed continue to play with, many bands - in many different musical styles. Blues, however, is their first love and what draws them to play together in this line up. A Statesboro Blues band gig is a non-stop show, running through some of the best Blues music, from slow and emotional to rip-roaring and high-energy. We also like to encourage any players in the audience to join us for a jam.

The South River Blues Band was formed some ten years ago, playing popular blues covers which are familiar, easy on the ear and tend to get a foot stomping hand clapping reaction from audiences around Scotland.

The band currently line up as a six piece with Robbie on bass, Colin on drums, Alan on vocals & harmonica, David & Danny on guitars and Duncan on keys.

Gus Munro is one of the hidden gems of Scotland’s thriving music scene; the singer songwriter is based in Glasgow, Scotland.  Combining his love of Scottish traditional music and his passion for the blues, his sound is often been described as Scottish-folk-blues.  His song writing manages to retain the feel and emotional expression of the deep-rooted blues, while pushing through his Scottish roots in a modern context.   His singing and song writing are complimented by his imaginative and melodic slide guitar work, which adds to the emotional impact of his live performance.  He is gaining a reputation as a unique talent. A genuine warm and engaging performer, Gus will draw you into his world and compel you to listen.
